Since 1981 we are running Tubtim-Resort, which we started with 10 bungalows built from bamboo at that time. As well we established the meanwhile well known, and for the brilliant food famous, restaurant. According to the beloved style of the island, staying there was very puristic, sharing a public shower, while enjoying the nice and quiet white sand beach in middle of the palm trees.
Already two years later we decided to built the bungalows from wood, and encreased the number to 15. Within this renovation we established the first water supply system enabling us to provide private showers and toilets for each bungalow since 1983. The fresh water has to be brought all the way from the mainland by boat since, and is still stored in a local tank for permanent availablity.
After a couple of years, as the utilisation demanded it, we raised the comfort by setting up generators in 1991 to have electricity for the restaurant as well as for all bungalows, giving us light on a switch and ceiling fans for the hot nights. Happily we built our still existing, but meanwhile modified, beach bar in 1992, followed by the BBQ-corner in 1996, which finally gave us the possibility to serve our customers right at the beach, what greatly pleased them ever since.
Starting in 1997 we have been building new bungalows equiped with airconditioning systems, to get the most comfort possible. In the same year we started to provide telephone service over wireless connections, as well as internet connectivity since 1999, which enables us to receive reservations directly on the island and stay in touch with our customers.
Currently we are holding 11 aircon bungalows with a size for 2, 3 or 6 persons, 8 bungalows in a 4 person size, 6 bungalows for 6-8 persons, and about 50 bungalows for 2 persons to stay Our staff of around 30 people is permanently taking care of all our customers, whenever needed.
The small shop next to the restaurant provides you with the most important items, so you are not lacking anything, even if you forgot to bring some items from home.
For keeping track on the most recent news or just enjoying some movie you can use our TV-set at the restaurant area, which is connected over satelite to the all UBC-channels.
Cable electricity is brought from the mainland since 2002, which gives us improved telephone and internet connectivity. After all, Tubtim resort is the most relaxing beach with brilliant food in Thai and Western style, as well as selected drinks in the bar, and exotic cocktails for everyone.
But before having a good time at our beachbar you should take advantage of the various activities we can provide and organize like massage on the beach, temporary ink tattoo, jet ski riding, island day tours, coral view trips, banana boat rides, sea walker advantures as well as motocycle rental service and diving opportunities for approved PADI divers.
We also want to inform you that a security safe deposit free of charge is available at the reception as we are not taking any responibility for valuables left at the bungalow.
